It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Patricia (Patty) Overberg nee Rauen, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 72 after battling kidney disease and complications from heart issues.
She was married to the love of her life, Bill, for over 50 years. While being a wife and a mother were part of her greatest joys in life, her favorite title was grandma. She cherished every moment spent with her two granddaughters, Shelby and Annabelle, whether it was playing games, baking, or watching them bowl. Her pride in their accomplishments was unwavering, and she loved them very much.
Patty was an incredibly passionate and giving person who made a big impact on her community. She was a Girl Scout leader for two troops spanning over 10 years. She took great interest in the accomplishments of each of her troop members and created special bonds that lasted long after Girl Scouts.
As an active member of Our Lady of Victory Parish, she dedicated her time to make the community a better place. She was one of the founding members of the Peace and Justice Commission and organized many community service projects. For over 25 years, she organized “The Giving Tree” at Our Lady of Victory providing Christmas presents for hundreds of people each year across the city of Cincinnati.
Patty’s life was one of kindness, compassion, and tireless dedication to others. She was grateful for those closest to her and formed lifelong friendships with many from her grade school and high school years.
Patty leaves behind her husband Bill, her daughters Christy (Brian) Tetzler, Kim (Nick) Luebbering and her son Daniel (Jenna), along with two beloved granddaughters Shelby and Annabelle Luebbering. She is survived by her siblings Carol (Bill) Franzosa, Henry “Sparky” Rauen, and Jamie (Cyndi) Rauen along with many nieces and nephews.
Patty was a lover of all animals, but especially dogs and elephants, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the SPCA: Attention Donor Relations, 11900 Conrey Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45249 or online at https://www.spcacincinnati.org/donate-now/ or the International Elephant Foundation: https://elephantconservation.org/donate/ (in memory of Patty Overberg).
Visitation will be Friday, February 21 at the Radel Funeral Home at 650 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233 from 5:00p to 7:00p. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 11:00a at Our Lady of Victory Church (808 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233).
