Patricia "Pat/Patty" Ann St. Mary

Patricia “Pat/Patty” Ann St. Mary, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2024, at her home in Fond du Lac, WI, at the age of 73.

Born on June 28, 1951, to Eugene and Ann Puddy, the eldest of seven, Patty was the anchor of her family, always holding her siblings— Janet (Tony) Christine, Mark, Tom, Steve, Brian, and John (Raimie)-- together with love and care. Before graduating from Goodrich High School, Patty married the love of her life, Gary, on February 14, 1970. Together, they built a loving home to raise their two sons, Shawn (Tanya) and Cory.

Patty found immense joy in spending time with her six grandchildren—Tyler (Katie) Oestreich, Tanner (Amberly), Tristin (Sam) Holzmann, Taylin (Tyler), Cameron (Danielle), and Colton (Brittany)—and adored her nine great-grandchildren, embracing every moment of being surrounded by her growing family.

Throughout her life, Patty wore many hats with grace and dedication. She held multiple jobs, including assembly work at Wells and Regal Ware, landscaping with Fond du Lac City Parks, and serving as a secretary for various auto dealerships. In 1991, she joined her husband, Gary, at the company he founded, Saint Wire & Cable, Inc., where together they traveled coast to coast, building not just a successful business but lifelong friendships. After 30 years, they passed on the business to their sons and entered a well-earned retirement.

Patty was an active member of the Eden Fireman Auxiliary and a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church, where her faith and community involvement were close to her heart. In recent years, she found joy in spending winters in Florida, embracing the warm weather and the camaraderie of her second “family” there. It was in Florida that she met her best friend, Dawn, and formed connections that became a treasured part of her life.

The simplest pleasures brought Patty the greatest joy—thrifting for antiques, exploring craft projects, playing cards, and listening to Patsy Cline. Above all, she cherished time spent with her friends and family and devoted husband.

Patty’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church, located at 260 Vincent St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
