Patricia Lane Davis - Patrick went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in Newport News, Virginia.
Patricia was born to the late Willie and Arlene Davis on June 19, 1948 in North Carolina. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Pinetops, NC. She graduated from Norfolk State University with a degree in K-5 education. She found great satisfaction and gratification in teaching Special Education students. During her career, she was employed by multiple school systems in Virginia and North Carolina, following her true passion of nurturing and educating children. Educating children and seeing them become productive members of society brought her so much joy and satisfaction.
Patricia gave her heart to the Lord at an early age. She was a faithful member of her local church whether she was in Virginia or North Carolina, including New Life Church in Hampton. She enjoyed her time volunteering as a Girl Scout Troop leader and seeing her granddaughters grow within the organization. Though she struggled with health issues early on, she never let that deter her from staying engaged with her family. She may have moved a little slower, but she was going to be there for every graduation, family reunion, birthday party and family barbecue.
Patricia was cherished by all who knew her. She was a most loving mother to her son, Michael and daughter, Laneisha. Patricia was a kind, loving, caring and out-going person, that loved being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed road trips, and listening to Motown music. Patricia loved cooking and was strict about keeping an organized house. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether family, friend, neighbor or stranger. She was an endearing woman and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her four sisters, Sandra Davis, Bettie Davis, Corether Ashe, Arlene Northcutt and three brothers, Arthur "Speggie" Davis, Calvin Davis and Curtis Davis.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory, her son Michael Davis, his wife Cindy and daughter Kennedy of Yorktown, VA; and her daughter Laneisha Batten, her husband Reginald and their 2 daughters, Chloye and Kelley of Newport News, VA. She also leaves her siblings Mary Braswell (Curtis Braswell) of Rocky Mount, NC, Constance Rogers (Pastor Arthur Rogers) of Newport News, VA, and Eliza Edwards of Pinetops, NC. Her memories will also be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
