Patricia Riehl

Patricia Ellen Riehl, of Ocala, FL, passed away on February 27, 2023, after a long illness. She was 81. Patricia was born in South Amboy, New Jersey, to James and Lena Kennedy on January 3, 1942. She attended St. Mary's grammar school and graduated from St. Mary's high school in South Amboy. Throughout her life, Patricia worked in several jobs – she was a bookkeeper for her uncle's auto parts store, she worked in a bank, and she was a business owner. She was a great cook, and an even better baker. Her recipes will be shared with friends and family and will be used for years to come. In addition, she was a talented quiltmaker and made quilts for friends and family. But her favorite role was being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.
Patricia was married to the late Richard Riehl in 1963 and went on to have two children, Mark and Marijo. She and Richard lived most of their lives in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 2016.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents James and Lena Kennedy, her husband of 53 years Richard, her brother Thomas, her brother James, and her sister Mary. She is survived by her children Mark Riehl and wife Alyse of Manasquan New Jersey and Marijo Burns and husband Daniel of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey; her grandchildren Nathaniel and Timothy Riehl, Joseph, Kayla, Brittany, and Ella Burns. Patricia lived for her grandchildren (but hated cats).
A memorial gathering will be held at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736 on Saturday, March 18th from 2 pm - 4 pm with a prayer service at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Gentiva Hospice in Patricia's name.
