Patricia Ann Schaffer, affectionately known as Patty, passed away peacefully at her home on November 3, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on January 9, 1969, in Endicott, New York, Patty's life was one that exemplified the virtues of love, friendship, and thoughtfulness.

Patty was the cherished daughter of Regis and Diana Schaffer, and she grew up alongside her loving siblings Mary Ann (Mark) Lundergan, Regis (Shannon) Schaffer, and Deborah (Drew) Farren. Patty's journey through life was enriched by the laughter and love of her children, Hannah Brown and Austin Brown, who were the light of her life. She was the fun and favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews, Sarah and Riley Lundergan, Regis and Paige Schaffer, and Regis and Blaise Farren. Patty's extended family included several aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she held dear. Completing her family was her faithful feline companion, Zippy, who was always by her side.

A proud graduate of Newark Valley High School's class of 1987, Patty's academic pursuits led her to Broome Community College and later to Binghamton University, where she earned her degree in Environmental Sciences. Her commitment to excellence was evident early on as she achieved both the Silver and Gold Awards in Girl Scouting, the organization's highest honors.

Professionally, Patty was a dedicated Merchandiser for SAS Retail Sales, where she was known for her diligent work ethic and friendly demeanor. She always carried a smile and was on the look out for store sales.

Patty's interests were as diverse as they were engaging. She had a keen eye for hidden gems, often venturing to garage sales and thrift shops with Hannah to discover treasures that she would adeptly sell on eBay. An adventurer at heart, she enjoyed participating in Mud Runs with her sisters and exploring the hills of Massachusetts on hikes with her brother. Patty's enthusiasm for the mythical Bigfoot was more than a hobby; it was a testament to her adventurous spirit and endless curiosity. Above all, Patty treasured her children, and she was immensely proud of Hannah's academic achievements and graduation from SUNY ESF.

Those who knew Patty will recall her loving nature and the ease with which she made friends. Patty's sweet tooth was legendary; she relished in the simple pleasures of a frozen peanut butter cup, a Peppermint Patty, and the anticipation of Nirchi's pizza. Her freezer was always stocked with a variety of ice cream flavors, each one a testament to her love for life's little indulgences. She was a thoughtful soul who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. As Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Patty's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.

Patty's life was a testament to the power of kindness, the joy of discovery, and the depth of familial bonds. Her legacy of love and friendship will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Patty will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the cherished memories shared by her family and friends.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting her guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com In lieu of flowers, Patty would want any gifts of remembrance be directed to her children Hannah and Austin. Gifts may be mailed to her parents, Regis and Diana Schaffer, 47 Elm Street, Newark Valley, NY 13811 or by visiting the Go Fund Me Link at:  Remembering Patty
