TOWNSEND-Patricia A. (Boyle) Shea, 77, died suddenly on March 2, 2023. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
Pat was born January 20, 1946, in Lowell, a daughter of the late Edith (Coutu) and Frederick Boyle. In 1976, Pat moved from Lowell to Townsend, where she raised a family. Summers always involved a trip to her favorite vacation spot, Cape Cod, where Pat enjoyed the beach life and eating out with family and friends.
Pat was a long time employee of Nashoba Valley Medical Center, during that time, she formed strong, lasting friendships there with incredible people that last to this day. These friendships were something that Pat deeply cherished.
A breast cancer survivor, Pat participated in several fashion shows to celebrate and honor others battling the disease. These fashion shows were not so much about the clothes, but the inspiring people wearing them. This was who Pat was.
Pat leaves four children, Christopher Shea and his wife Jen Shea and their children, Abigael, Liam, Kyla, Aine and Breezy, Shawn Shea and his wife Heather Shea and their children, Matthew and Thomas, Patrick Shea and his fiancé' Bridget Barrett and their children, Owen and Nora, Courtney Heard and her husband Daniel Heard are expecting their first child. Pat is also survived by her sister Carolyn MacDonald, Brother-in-Law Angus MacDonald, and their sons DJ, Keith, and Craig.
Pat will be remembered by her family and friends as someone who, despite a tough facade, was one of the most authentic people you could ever meet. She will be missed dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 9, from 4 to 7PM in the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend. Her funeral will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, at 11AM in the funeral home followed by a burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Townsend.
