Patricia Jane "Pat" (Stickler) Smith, age 86, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024.
Pat was born on December 7, 1937, to Edward V. and Jane I. (Dierking) Stickler at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany, IN. A proud graduate of Academy Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, IN, class of 1956, Pat led a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to her family and community.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Frenchtown, IN, where her faith was an important part of her life. Over the years, Pat worked in various positions, starting with Bell Telephone Co. in California, followed by Dunn and Bradstreet in Louisville, and finally as a controller for Ramsey Popcorn Co. in Ramsey, IN, where she retired after forty years of service.
Pat married John Edwin "Eddie" Smith of Depauw, IN, and together they built a loving family. Known for her love of entertaining, Pat enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and parties, bringing joy to friends and family alike. Her greatest passions were cooking and gardening, activities that brought her immense fulfillment throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John "Eddie" Smith, four brothers: James R. "Bob" Stickler, Clarence E. "Bud" Stickler, Herbert "Herb" Stickler, and John "Jack" Stickler. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred "Sis" Schuler.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Kevin R. (Lori) Smith; Gregory A. (Julie) Smith, and daughter, Debra M. (Alan) Fessel. She leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy in her later years.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown, IN. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial to take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Frenchtown, IN.
Pat will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love for her family, her generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
