Patricia Mary Speshock (née Lowe) of Wyckoff, NJ passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, at Christian Healthcare's Heritage Manor. She will be lovingly welcomed into eternal life by her late relatives whom she adored. Pat was born on January 29, 1931, and raised in
Teaneck, NJ to the late Frank and May Lowe, before moving to
Harrington Park, NJ with her parents and siblings. Pat commuted many years to NYC and ended her administrative assistant career at Raytheon in
Tenafly, NJ when she met the love of her life Retired US Army Colonel Edward J. Speshock, Sr. at a family friend's house. After a short courtship they were married in 1972 and enjoyed a storybook honeymoon in Hawaii followed by a month's long cruise on the Queen Elizabeth II before settling back at his home in Teaneck NJ. Ed and "Patricia", as only he affectionately called her, spent many a year wintering in Florida with her parents. They would later settle in their home in Wyckoff, NJ and enjoy 20 years there together before Ed passed away in 2006 after 34 years of wedded bliss. Pat is predeceased by her devoted husband Ed, her beloved "Mama & Daddy", her cherished sister Dolores Sirubi of Old Tappan, NJ and her nephew/godson Jim Sirubi of
Allendale, NJ. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Lowe, as she called him, of
Somerset, NJ and her sister in law Linda Lowe of
Ramsey, NJ; her niece Tracy Coombs (Tim) and their children, Owen, Lucy & Peter of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; her niece Patty Ross (Jimmy) and their children, Taryn & Ryan of
Bridgewater, NJ; and her niece Mary Sirubi (the late Jim) of
Ramsey, NJ and their children, Nicole, Danielle (Joe) and Alexa. As well as her stepchildren Edward J. Speshock, Jr and his family of Virginia and Rosemary Rupy of Florida. "Aunt Pat" will forever be remembered by her signature phrases "at any rate" and "Thanks be to God". She loved engaging with any child that crossed her path whether in the grocery store or at Sunday mass. However, she most particularly enjoyed being with her nephew, nieces and great nephews and great nieces. Whether it be mystery rides, weekly visits to Paul's for ice cream, spot shopping for holiday gifts or making Halloween costumes out of her always crisp white curtains, she was the consummate aunt. In her later years she enjoyed being a member of the Wyckoff Senior Citizens, attending their meetings, luncheons and day trips. A funeral mass will take place on September 8, 2023, at 1 pm at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved Ed at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
