Patricia Marie Stensland

GILBERTSVILLE:
Patricia Marie Stensland, 91, of Gilbertsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Norwich Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born on July 5, 1934, the daughter of the late Stephen and Marie (Zeller) McKenna.
Patricia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family and faith. A long-standing member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morris, she was deeply rooted in her community and found purpose in helping others. She was also active in the Gilbertsville Ladies Auxiliary, where she made many cherished friendships over the years.
Known for her gentle spirit and patient, steady nature, Patricia enjoyed the simple joys of life. She could often be found with a book in her hands, tending lovingly to her garden, or working on needlepoint projects that she shared with family and friends. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled with the comfort of her presence and the love she had for those around her.
Patricia will be greatly missed by her four children: Linda Holt, Diane Stensland, Michele (John) Birdsall, and Michael Stensland; her grandchildren Stephen (Nicole) Holt, Ryan (Katelyn) Holt, Blake Stensland, Joseph (Kristen) Melita, Heather (Cole) Covington, Courtney Birdsall, Adam (Kari) Birdsall, Lillian (Andy) Mulichak, and Ivy Stensland; and her great-grandchildren Olivia, Mickenna, Quinn, Will, Layla, Evelyn, Mia, Jack, Aleks, Eloise, and Nora. Each of them brought immense joy to her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman "Mike" Stensland; her son-in-law, Doug Holt; her daughter-in-law, Bobbi Stensland; and her brother, Stephen McKenna.
Family and friends are invited to visitation hours on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street, Morris. Her funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Main Street, Morris, with burial afterward at Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville.
