Patricia Szymczyk

Patricia (Pat) Ann Szymczyk of Livonia, MI passed away peacefully at Angela Hospice
on September 15, 2024 at the age of 89.
Pat was born on December 13, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan and was the youngest of
seventeen children.
Pat spent her working years at Tiger Stadium in Detroit, Michigan and was an emphatic
fan of the Detroit Tigers, Ernie Harwell and Sparky Anderson. Pat made numerous
friends working at the Stadium that she treasured long after her retirement.
Spending time with family and friends was most important to Pat. She enjoyed spending
time with them playing cards or bingo, shopping and visiting. Pat also enjoyed watching
game shows, reading and completing word search puzzles.
Pat was an active member and donor of the Humane Society. She loved her furry
friends Rocky, Snowflake and Boo and would stop at any point to visit with other dogs
which she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Szymczyk, granddaughter Michelle
Potts, lifelong partner James Deparvine and all of her siblings.
Pat is survived by daughters Sandra Galea, Arlene (David) Morales, and Tina Potts;
grandchildren Monica (Todd) Acker, Christy (Stan) Kropik, Marlene Galea, Clyde
(Melissa) Potts, David Morales, Donald (Debbie) Potts and Thomas Galea; great-
grandchildren Meagan, Brooke, Alyssa, Jacob, Devyn, Jack, Ethan, Aislinn and
Addison; great-great grandchildren Chloe, Ashton and Illidan; many beloved nieces and
nephews and many others that regarded Pat as "family".

Service: Saturday, September 21, 2024 10:00AM
Committal Prayers at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights immediately following the service.
Interment: Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Pat Szymczyk to Michigan
Humane Society or American Heart Association.
