Patricia Templin, age 89, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Carthage. Patricia Marie Bott was born on October 4, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Roy Linton and Aurelia Fox Bott. She was raised in Shreveport and graduated from St. Vincent Academy with the Class of 1954.
On September 16, 1954, Patricia married the love of her life, John Franklin Templin, in Shreveport. Together they shared 54 years of marriage before his passing on October 7, 2008. In 1973, Patricia and John moved from Shreveport to the Yarnell Community of Panola County, where they raised their family and made their home. Patricia enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors, but above all, she cherished being a mother and caring for her family. She was a devoted and active member of St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church, where she faithfully participated in many church activities.
In addition to her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her son, John Franklin Templin II; her brothers, Roy Bott and Mark Bott; and her sister, Loretta Brown.
She is survived by her children: Joi Templin Doughty and husband Dan, Matt Templin and wife Kaye, Terry Templin, Renee Templin Duckworth, Patti Templin Tiller, and Robert Templin and wife Cherie; eighteen grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, with more on the way; and her siblings, Troy Bott, Lanny Bott, Danny Bott, Michael Bott, Kevin Bott, Ramona Reynolds, Dolores Byars, and Donna Bohn. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church in Carthage. Interment will follow at Shalom Cemetery in the Yarnell Community. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 State Highway 149, Carthage, Texas 75633.
Pallbearers are Michael Newman, Jeffrey Newman, Logan Doughty, John Templin III, Luke Templin, Tobi Duckworth, Eric Duckworth, Jonathan Tiller, Joshua Templin, and Alan Templin.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hearts Way Hospice for the compassionate care and love shown to Mrs. Templin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a random act of kindness in Mrs. Templin’s memory or make a memorial donation to Hearts Way Hospice, 437 W. Panola, Carthage, Texas 75633.
