Obituary for Patricia (Grimes) Upshaw Patricia (Grimes) Upshaw, 82, of Kathleen, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia. A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with Reverend Randall Nash officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in Pat's honor. Born on October 11, 1943, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late John C. and Ozelee (Bates) Grimes, Pat dedicated her life to caring for others, especially her family. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, and she shared a lifetime of love and laughter with her husband, Jack-whom she adored and lovingly teased every day of their 65 years together. Pat was a devoted follower of Christ and an active member of Southside Baptist Church, where she found joy in worship and service. Known for her servant's heart, she always put the needs of others before her own. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Kezar; sister, Barbara Williams; and brother, Mike Grimes. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jack Upshaw; daughters, Kathy Stewart (Tom) of Kathleen, Georgia, and Rhonda Dimsdale (Curt) of Kathleen, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Summer Hoopes (John Justice), Kasey Simon (Ben), Kelsea Martini (John), Hydee Boutwell (Logan), Hollee Kezar, Reagan Dimsdale, Reese Dimsdale, and Aaron Hoopes; and four great-grandchildren: Ayden Hoopes, Journee Martini, Jaycee Martini, and John Thomas Martini; son-in-law: Chuck Kezar of Elko, Georgia. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
