Obituary of Patricia Alice Vreeland
Patricia Alice Vreeland of Cushing Maine, Lehigh Florida, and Searsport, Maine passed away March 5, 2025 at the home of her youngest daughter Patty Sprague in Searsport.
Pat was born December 17, 1926 in Englewood, N.J. to Marguerite Antoinette Sulpice and Joseph John Traut. She met Chester while he was serving in the military from 1943-1946 and they married Dec 22, 1945 in New Jersey.
In 1970 Pat and Chet moved to Warren,Maine where they were owners of the Colonial pet shop, Rockland hobby shop, and the Brookfield woman's shop in Rockland Maine until they retired in 1992 and moved to Lehigh Florida where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Chester passed in Nov 2007 after 62 years of marriage.
Patricia is survived by 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. A son,Kenneth Vreeland of Sparta, Tennessee and his wife Karen and they had 3 children. Jason and his wife Marty, Amanda and her husband Gordon Harms, and Adam and his wife Samantha. A daughter, Diane Spear and her husband Herbert of Lehigh,FL. And they had 3 children. Timothy Spear and wife Cliflany (their children Mariah and Nathaniel). Jennifer Hilaire and her 3 kids (Naomi, Phillip, and David Urban) Rebecca Wright and husband Jonathan. A son, Dennis Vreeland of Lehigh,FL and his 2 children (Jade and Wes Moody and Kevin Vreeland). A daughter, Patricia Sprague and husband Jon of Searsport, Me and their daughter (Julianna Sprague). A nephew Richard Block and wife Joann of Texas.
Pat loved gardening, decorating and her clothes store. She loved playing scrabble with Tim and Diane, and cheating at cards so Jon couldn't win. She will be missed dearly by everyone, especially Diane, who she talked to daily through life. A friend Donna Snowdeal, and Glen Baker.
She was a devoted wife, mom, Grandma, and friend to many. She was a life long member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Maine and Florida and remained faithful to the end with her hope for the resurrection and to see loved ones again.
A memorial will be held on Saturday March 15, 2025 at 2 pm Eastern time 1pm Central time.
