Mrs. Patricia Simmons Wagoner, age 71, of State Road, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Wagoner was born on October 25, 1953, in Surry County to Franklin Delano and Dorothy Martin Simmons. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Elkin, and served as the Director of Volunteer Services at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Professionally, she worked for the Surry County Clerk of Superior Court and was the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Foundation Director.
Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Peggy Simmons Slawter, and a niece Brittany Leigh Slawter.
Survivors include: her husband, Harold "Peegie" Wagoner, of the home; daughter, Daniyel Kennedy Bates, and husband Toddy of State Road; grandson, Parker Bates; sister, Susan Simmons Worth, and husband Bobby of Mount Airy; brother-in-law, Mike Slawter; niece, Presley Macemore, and husband Dustin of State Road; nephew, Ryan Worth of Charlotte; niece, Sydney Worth, and fiancé Zachary Morris of Charlotte; nephew, Kolsen Macemore; and niece, Emorie Macemore.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Elkin, with Rev. Mark Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Elkin.
Flowers will be accepted, and the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Elkin, 110 Gwyn Ave, Elkin, NC 28621. A special thanks to all of Patricia/Pat/Trish/Trisha girlfriends; your love, friendship, and support meant the world to her.
