Patricia Ruth Walsh

Patricia Ruth Walsh, 81, of Dallas Texas, went home to her Heavenly father on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Pat was born July 3, 1944, in Dallas Texas to Oslin and Merle Nation.
In Pat's time here on earth, she was steadily going about doing the Father's work.
While attending a church in Michigan, the Pastor requested that Pat create and lead a Bible study for women. This study grew in attendance from just a handful to over 125 women. While attending First Baptist Church in Glen Rose, Pat created and led a prayer ministry that included 6 different prayer endeavors and recruited over 265 people into the church prayer ministry.
While visiting Africa, she brought Bibles in the native languages of South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia to pass out to anyone she passed by.
During her career, having a Master Degree in Library Science, she worked as a librarian and a researcher for a Dallas based consulting firm. In fact, Pat had a USA Today article written about her that cited her as one of the best business researchers for senior level executives from many industries.
Her passion, though, was in giving back and building new opportunities for reading, especially for children. She loved books. Over the years, she was instrumental in starting 6 church libraries, spread across three different countries, resulting in the distribution of thousands of pieces of media.
Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Michael Gordon Walsh; son David and wife Jenny Walsh, their children, Jacob (Katie), Sam, Michael (Brooke), and Jonathan; daughter Lisa Arpey and Gerard Arpey and their children, Ally, Luke, and James.; brother Jim (Sally) Nation; sister Linda (John) Keeney; sister-in-law Maureen Franzetti; brother-in-law Pete (Lynn) Walsh.
Funeral services for Pat will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Glen Rose Texas. A private burial will be held following the service for the family.
