**In Loving Memory of Joe Michael Woodward**
March 7, 1947 – October 15, 2025
Joe Woodward, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on October 15, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 7, 1947, he led a life filled with love for others.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Elaine, son Sean Woodward and his wife Stephanie, daughter Joey Matherne and her husband Clifton, daughter Credence Baker and her husband Paul, daughter Charity Hatley and her fiancé David, and daughter Calah Noland and her husband Colby.
He had many loved grandchildren - Bailey, Briley, Allie, Abbie, Asher, Brooks, Conner, Anslie, Briggs, Raeleigh, Claire, and Autumn, as well as great grandson Myles, and a great-granddaughter on the way, to be named Violet Dare.
Joe was deeply committed to his faith, gracefully living his values and serving his brothers and sisters at Grace Community Church with dedication. He humbly followed Christ every day.
Joe earned a bachelors degree in History from Abilene Christian University and a Master's in Criminal Justice from Midwestern State. His 35 year career in criminal justice probation was marked by a strong work ethic and compassion, and he earned the respect and admiration of all who worked with him in the court system in Dallas County.
In his youth, he was a talented athlete, a passion he maintained as a lifelong sports enthusiast, especially cherishing Glen Rose and Tarleton State games and sharing this love with his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 20th at 10:30am at Grace Community Church to celebrate a life well lived.
