It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia (Patsy) Fierro Watts, who passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 75.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Patsy was born on August 3, 1949 to Acension and Amelia Fierro in Odessa, TX. After Patsy graduated from Ector High School in 1967, she went on to receive her Certificate in Vocational Nursing at Amarillo College.
After receiving her nursing license, Patsy began her first job as an LVN at a pediatric physician office kickstarting a 25 plus year career in nursing. During her career, she worked in a variety of nursing fields including a neurosurgery practice and chart auditing in Dallas, TX.
Patsy was very outgoing and loved exploring and going on adventures. Some of her favorite memories were created with her daughter, sister, and grandchildren – everything from their annual summer trip to riding the Dallas Dart to the zoo to trying new restaurants. She was always there to experience life with them.
Patsy never met a stranger and always found a “single serving friend” wherever she went. Her home was a welcome place for all and was often the host for family gatherings and parties. She loved music; all of it; everything from Little Joe to Paul McCartney to Snoop Dogg. You could often hear the music playing loudly in her house on a weekend afternoon.
Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her feisty spirit and witty personality.
Patsy leaves behind her children Angela Aguirre and husband Ray of Philadelphia, PA, Frank J Watts and wife Natalie of Las Colinas, TX; two grandchildren, Jacob Aguirre and Benjamin Aguirre; two sisters Maria (Chris) Gibbs and Veronica Fierro of Amarillo; 3 brothers Rick Fierro of Robinsons, TX , Ascension (Theresa) Fierro of Smithville, TX and Joe Fierro of Amarillo. Also 12 nieces, 10 nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Eduardo Fierro, and two sisters Eulalia Marquez and Rosie Escamilla.
2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109
