With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Patricia Wieland announces her peaceful passing, on June 12, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Scotland to John Lesley Edwards and Selina Keane Edwards in 1936, Patricia brought with her the strength, resilience, and wit of her homeland when she followed a handsome airman, Charles Wieland, to the United States around age 18. Patricia and Charles spent the next 56 years building a beautiful life together and proudly raising eight children.
Working various jobs after all her children were school-age, Patricia's biggest achievement was raising a family with deep traditions reminiscent of her Scottish heritage. After Charles passed in 2011, Patricia began volunteering to drive elderly members of the community to appointments and other activities, providing warm companionship to countless people.
She is preceded in death by, and has rejoined in heavenly spirit, her husband, son (Bruce), parents, and brothers (John and Fred). Patricia is survived by her seven beloved children (Debra, Greg, Ann, Casey, Patsy, Selina, and Mary), her brother (Alan), and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory and carry her spirit forward.
A memorial will be held at Mission Park South Funeral Home on July 12, 2025, at 3pm.
