Patricia Eileen Young of Hazelhurst peacefully passed away at 85 years old on Friday, October 10 at home after a long battle with Parkinsons.
Pat was born August 13, 1940, at Westlake Hospital Melrose Park Illinois, the daughter of Eric and Dorothy Nystrom. Pat graduated from Fenton High School in Bensenville, IL. Pat married her lifetime love William Young August 10,1962. After starting their family in Illinois, they decided northern Wisconsin was where they really wanted to be. Will and Pat owned several businesses in the Minocqua area. Two of the businesses they ran themselves. First the Chalet restaurant (PJ’s Pantry) famous for their secret recipe potato pancakes and Friday fish fry’s which she ran with her sister Janet. Next was Y’s Acres Resort on Squirrel Lake where Pat could be found in the kitchen making another great fish fry on Friday nights.
Pat truly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, baking, bird watching, reading, scrapbooking, and walking. She enjoyed travel trips with her sons, their families, and of course hunting season and Packer games.
She is survived by her sons: Rob (Renee) and Doug (DeeAnn) and by grandchildren: Rhonda Wilson (Jamie), Melanie Caturia (Chris), Derek Young (Katie), Ashley Jensen (Brian), Kyle Blouin, and Will Young. Further survived by great grandchildren: Juliet (Ben), Liam, Marshall, Connor, Jack, Marley, Shyann, Dixie, Maverick, Tinsley, and Jacob.
Further survived by siblings: Rich (Judy) Nystrom, Janet Nystrom, Ron Nystrom, Randy Nystrom. Sister-in-laws: Pauline Nystrom, Pat Cleveland, and dear friend Phyllis Duranso. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Will, daughter Cathy, great grand daughter Emma, her siblings Eric, Bobby, and Karen. Her parents Eric and Dorothy Nystrom.
The family will have a private burial at Forest Garden Cemetery Woodruff. A Celebration of Life is planned for both Pat and Will next summer.
