Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Patrick (Pat) Francis Aldridge, continued his journey peacefully with his family by his side on the evening of June 20, 2024, in Cambridge, Ohio at the age of 70.
Pat was born in Akron, Ohio on May 2, 1954, son to the late Thomas and Mary (Jones) Aldridge. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Andrew) Holt and Emily (Aaron) Neiswonger, his grandchildren Julian
Boylan, Rogan Neiswonger, and Isaac Holt; brother Michael (Kathy) Aldridge; his nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also preceded in death by his younger brother Russell Aldridge.
Pat was a loving, sentimental man, a believer in miracles, and a passionate Catholic whose faith guided his life. He was a proud Navy veteran who served on the USS Independence CV-62 from 1973-1977. He was exceptionally creative and artistic, a festive character true to himself, who never ceased to grow with new interests and ideas. He enjoyed fishing, writing poetry, calligraphy, playing the harmonica, woodworking, painting, sculpting, drawing, learning "magic" tricks, his many hats and knick knacks, cold beer and home- cooked food, and bringing cheer to those around him.
Prayer for Peace:
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy.
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive –
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
