Patrick W. Alvey, 84, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his home. He was born August 19, 1937 in Evansville to the late Pauline (Huthsteiner) and Elmer Alvey.
Patrick graduated from Tell City High School in 1955 and served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a toolmaker for Pacon Corporation, formerly known as Kent and Ball Plastics, and worked for Builders Square and Lowes Home Improvement. Patrick was a member of Mount Olive General Baptist Church in Newburgh and the Evansville Knife Club. He enjoyed golf and fishing and was a knife collector. Patrick was an avid IU Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda (Bruning) Alvey; children, Greg Alvey and Jeff (Leah) Alvey; grandchildren, Colton (Katlin) Alvey, Jacob Alvey and Tori Alvey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Kathy Hatfield and Bob and Peggy Bruning ; nieces and nephews; good friends, Dave and Betty Housman; and his church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Tom Byrd and Harvey Byrd and sister, Betty Mask.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the funeral home with Brothers Ken Slater and Josh Slater officiating.
Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Olive General Baptist Church, 4377 State Rd 261, Newburgh, IN 47630.
