SWANSBORO - Patrick "Pat" DeFusco, 87, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 with his wife by his side. He was born May 11, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ a son of the late Angelo and Luisa Salzillo DiFusco.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ben Barrows officiating, for those unable to attend the service will be livestreamed on YouTube on the Cape Carteret Presbyterian chanel. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
He courageously served his country in the US Navy, and retired from AT&T Technologies of Gaston, SC. After moving to his Emerald Isle home, he took care of his home and garden, loved and supported his wife's career, spoiled his dogs and traveled extensively.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia Scott DeFusco of the home; sisters, Annette DeFusco Fodor of Manchester, NJ and Sophie "Penny" DeFusco Cornell of Staten Island, NY. He is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews, many were his God Children, and a growing number of grandnieces and grandnephews and great nieces and nephews. He loved them all and was greatly loved by them.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Lazlo DeFusco; sister, Helen DeFusco Nagy; and a brother, Michael DeFusco.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church, Immigrant Family Assistant Fund, 3HC Home Care and Hospice Care Inc. or to your preferred local domestic or wild animal rescue organization.
