Patrick Thomas Ferentz passed away on October 22, 2025, in Modesto, California after suffering a catastrophic accident while on vacation. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Phyllis Ferentz, and brother Brian.
Born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 3, 1959, Pat was known for his love and commitment to his family, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, his sense of adventure, and his generosity. He spent 20 years in the US Navy as a submariner and 20 years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He earned his bachelor's degree from New School for Social Research while stationed in New York.
Pat is survived by his wife, Sue; children Michael Dudley (wife, Patty), Katie Dudley-Peix (husband Nico), and Andy Dudley; and his grandsons, Jackson, Patrick, and Cooper Dudley. He is also survived by his brother Michael Ferentz (wife Ellen), sister Susy Besougloff, sister-in-law Patty Ferentz, a niece and several nephews. They will forever hold dear memories and love shared.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Pat's life on November 7 at 6:00 PM at Hollomon-Brown Princess Anne Chapel, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Pat's generous spirit, donations may be made to Life Net Health Foundation, 1864 Concert Drive, Virginia Beach, VA. 23453. This organization supports organ donation.
Pat will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
