Patrick Finn Obituary

Pat Finn of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 79, from pancreatic cancer. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, successful businessman, and man of deep Catholic faith whose life was defined not only by his accomplishments, but by the people he loved and who loved him in return.

Born in Norfolk, Nebraska, Pat was raised in a home where faith shaped every aspect of life. This faith continued in his marriage, where he and Rose raised four children: Jennifer, Sean, Greg, and Ryan. Pat was actively involved in his children's lives, coaching their sports teams and serving on the school board.

A graduate of Rockhurst College and Wichita State University, where he earned his MBA, Pat built a distinguished career in business. He held leadership roles at Carland and American Coleman Company before founding Finn & Associates, Inc., a business brokerage firm. He helped establish M&A Source, which became one of the largest mergers and acquisitions associations in America.

Pat loved a good prank. His children remember him as a masterful storyteller whose tales became treasured family lore. He was the kind of person friends loved to be around, someone who brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

In retirement, Pat and Rose enjoyed their years in Sun City West, golfing, attending dances and concerts, and volunteering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. As a grandfather to Jessica, Annie, and John, Pat treasured every moment with them and wrote his autobiography specifically for them, wanting them to know their family history and the depth of his love. Pat's heart was deeply broken by the loss of his youngest son, Ryan, to colorectal cancer in 2019 at age 41.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Rose; his children Jennifer Whalen (Joe), Sean (Jill), and Greg (Angie); his grandchildren Jessica, Annie, and John; step-grandchildren Hope, Hannah, and AJ; his siblings Jane, John, Tom, Rosemary, and Natalie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son Ryan, his brother Dick, and his parents Leo and Wilma Finn.

A Scripture Service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West, Arizona, followed by a luncheon at State 48 Brewery in Surprise, Arizona. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 27, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita, Kansas, with Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
