Patrick D. Gilligan, age 63, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 9:30 - 11:30 AM Friday, August 30, 2024 at St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112 th Street, Chicago, IL 60655. The Memorial Mass will begin at 11:30 AM CST.
Beloved husband of Maureen (nee Carroll). Loving father of Josie and Charlie. Dear brother of Liam (Margaret) Gilligan, Helen (Terrence) Holz, David (Anna) Gilligan, John (Sheila) Gilligan, Margaret (the late Thomas) Kenny, Deirdre (William Worden) Gilligan, James and the late Mary Gilligan. Son of the late John and Mary (nee Glynn) Gilligan. Godfather of Moira Gilligan and Sarah (Gilligan) Moran. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, a cousin, and a friend of many. Member of Carpenters Union Local 13, IATSE Local 476, and the Prairie Club at Camp Hazelhurst.
Patrick was a master of anything he was interested in - carpentry, photography, pottery, painting and so much more. His knowledge of the natural world was vast and shared widely. He was fierce in all he did - loving his family and friends, serving every soul of his community the instant they needed him.
