He was preceded in death by his mother in-law Leigh Ann Heppner, and his loving grandparents, who played an integral role in shaping the person he became. Patrick's love for his family was unwavering, and he is survived by his beloved wife, Dana Herman (Richards), with whom he shared 18 wonderful years with. The two married on February 13, 2010, in a beautiful ceremony at the Church of the Open Door, and their love story was one that inspired all who witnessed it.

Patrick was a graduate of Truman High School and dedicated many years to serving his community. He started his career as a Mail Clerk for the County of Bucks, and quickly transitioned into the Parks Department as a County Forrester, where he dedicated over a decade in the field he loved, and took great pride in making Bucks County beautiful. He then had the opportunity to become the Mail Room Coordinator at Rosemont College, where he was adored and respected by many of his colleagues and students. His commitment to volunteering in his hometown and on the Rosemont College Campus showcased his generous spirit and desire to give back to the places he loved.
Patrick celebrated 19 years of sobriety this month, something he took immense pride in. He will be remembered for the constant smile that lit up his face, his vibrant, passionate personality, and he was also well known for his sharp intellect. Patrick was a lover of bright colors and coordinated clothing that always made him stand out in a crowd. He had an infectious passion for life and embraced his hobbies with enthusiasm, whether it was being a firework enthusiast, gardening, woodworking, building the loudest speakers anyone could imagine, or assembling bikes and RC cars. He and Dana shared a love for spontaneous road trips, and they delighted in spending quiet moments at home with their beloved cats, for whom Patrick was affectionately known as the "best cat daddy."
