In loving Memory of Patrick "PJ" McWeeny. Patrick passed away at home surrounded by his daughter Lisa and caregiver Sanaa. He was ready to join his loved ones and friends who have already passed. Just 5 days short of his 90th birthday he lived a full and eventful life. He lived according to the Irish saying; "May your glass be ever full. May the roof over your head be always strong. And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows your dead." Patrick was born May 21, 1935, son of the late Thomas, Co. Letrim, Ireland and the late Lillian (Flynn), Co. Kerry, Ireland. He was the beloved husband of the late Donna LoPresti and the late Patricia Bernhagen (mother of Lisa). He always said, "I can't believe I survived two women." Patrick was a generous soul who believed in family, taking care of those who need help and service to God. He was proud of his Irish Heritage and loved that he came from a family of rebels. He was also very proud of his service in the Marine Corps and always supported veterans in any way he could. Patrick went to Quigley High School Seminary for 4 years and left to enlist in the Marine Corps. After his service he earned a business degree at Loyola University. He kept in touch with his Loyola Fraternity brothers and roommates until the end. He worked as a National Sales Manager in the food and beverage industry for most of his career. He built a successful career through hard work, grit and confidence. Patrick enjoyed traveling the world but especially enjoyed returning to Ireland to see family. As they say, he returned home. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan and fondly remembered sneaking into the stadium with his brother Jim to watch when they were still the Cardinals. Everyone remembers what a great storyteller Patrick was and in some circles was considered quite the character. He cherished his siblings and was a proud brother of the late Jim (late Sharon), Sean (Millie, late Joan), the late Tommy "Buddy", the late Maureen McGuire (late Al), the late Danny (Jane, late Mary Louise), the late Kevin and Thomasina Volkman. He was a beloved father to Lisa, a beloved uncle, a beloved cousin to his Irish relatives and a good friend to many. He touched the lives of many and led by example, in how he lived each day. His family is grateful for the excellent care and love given to him by his caregivers Sanaa, Bob and Ganaa.
