Patrick Morency Obituary

Patrick Gerald Morency, 42, of Woburn, passed away on August 5, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with addiction. Born on May 11, 1983, in Falmouth, Patrick was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Patrick grew up in Falmouth and graduated from Falmouth High School in 2001. From a young age, he loved building things-an interest sparked by his time in woodshop and auto mechanics classes. This passion carried into adulthood: he became a professional drone pilot, building and flying more than 50 drones for both commercial and personal enjoyment. He was also a talented furniture upholsterer, crafting custom pieces for homes, hotels, and even large yachts throughout his career.

Known for his booming laugh, quick wit, and endless Seinfeld quotes, Patrick lit up every room he entered. He had a rare gift for making people laugh-even in the most unexpected moments-and was always ready with a joke or a sarcastic one-liner.

In 2018, Patrick met the love of his life, Kanichada "Anna" Morency (née Visessan). When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted their wedding plans, they quietly married at Woburn City Hall-complete with plague masks for a bit of levity. Together, they shared a love of weekend getaways across New England and discovering new restaurants. As a designer, Anna often collaborated with Patrick on creative projects, and in 2023, they traveled to Thailand to meet her family. Patrick fully embraced Thai culture and looked forward to visiting again in the future.

That same year, Patrick became an uncle-one of his favorite roles in life. He proudly dubbed himself the "crazy uncle," delighting in showering his nieces and nephews with gifts like Nerf guns, water balloons, and anything else guaranteed to drive his siblings up the wall.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Anna; his parents, Paul and Bernadette Morency, of Falmouth; his sister, Jaclyn Morency Coble, and her husband Derek, of Milton; and his brother, Joseph Morency, and his wife Julie (née Osberg), of Mashpee. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Tyler Coble, Samuel Coble, Reilly Morency, and Thomas Morency.

A private burial will be held for close family and friends. A public celebration of life will follow at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to check in on someone who may be struggling with addiction. Donations in Patrick's memory can also be made to Rize Massachusetts, a non-profit organization working to end the opioid epidemic in Massachusetts.
