Patrick Hart, age 73, of Big Stone City, SD, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home on Big Stone Lake.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bunker Hills Event Center in Coon Rapids, MN.

Patrick Gene Hart was born on June 10, 1951, in Duluth, MN, to Raymond and Cecelia (Coleff) Hart. He attended Morgan Park High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. Following high school, Pat attended Alexandria Technical College and earned his degree in Law Enforcement in 1971. He later attended Metropolitan State University and completed his degree in Criminal Justice.

Proudly serving in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973, Pat served as a Military Police Officer and K-9 handler. He began his police career in 1974 as a patrol officer in Blaine, MN, and later moved to the Anoka County Criminal Investigative Division in 1991. Pat retired as an Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Deputy in June of 2001 and continued working as Anoka County Range Master until 2016.

Leaving the Socialist Republic of Minnesota, Pat moved to the free state of South Dakota in 2019, where he owned and operated RV Camping 109 in Big Stone City. His winters were spent traveling with Rose and his RV to the southwest United States. He made many great friends, reunited with many old friends, and had many adventures along the way.

Pat’s greatest joy was his grandchildren, and they held him in the highest regard as “Grandpa”. He loved spending time at the family shack on the North Shore of Minnesota. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, and teaching the grandkids how to shoot.

Pat will be greatly missed by his son, Aaron (Brooke) Hart of East Bethel, MN; his daughter, Joelle (Scott) Bolster of Tarpon Springs, FL; four grandchildren: Kassandra Hart, 2LT Evan Bolster, Maya Bolster, and Tarin Rogowski; two great-grandchildren: Bjorn Rogowski, and Leif Rogowski; brother, Mike (Judy) Hart of Duluth, MN; and significant other, Rose Kruger-Fuchs. He is also survived by many other family members, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond and Cecelia Hart; and sister, Rae Palmquist.
