Patrick Eugene Ray, affectionately known as Pat, passed away on July 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, and their three daughters: Santana Ray and her fiancé Richard; Brittney Faulkner and her husband Cody; and Shelby Trytsman and her husband Johnnie. Pat was a proud grandfather to four wonderful grandchildren-Madison, Jimmie, Adleigh, and Hesston-who were the light of his life.
Pat is also survived by his mother, Valeria Ray and his brothers, Terry and Timothy Ray. His father, Jimmie Edward Ray, preceded him in death on February 14th of this year.
Born on September 2, 1970, in Milton, Florida, Pat spent his early years moving with his family to various Navy assignments in Texas and Virginia before settling in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, in 1982 following his father's retirement. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1986 and later attended trade school, where he completed training in heating and air conditioning. He spent much of his career in the HVAC industry and ran his own HVAC company for a time.
To his family, Pat was a real-life Superman-strong, dependable, and endlessly loving. He would do anything for those he cared about. Known for his infectious smile and joyful spirit, Pat had a gift for making people laugh, even in the most difficult times. His warmth and humor touched the hearts of everyone he met, including the nurses and caregivers who looked after him during his final days.
Pat loved the outdoors-camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and soaking in the beauty of nature-but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, and strength he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
A celebration of Pat's life and graveside service will be scheduled for a later date.
