Patrycia T Lukac

Patrycia T. Lukac, 71, of Centerville and formerly of Brockton, passed away July 7th, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of 38 years to Ted Lukac of Centerville and mother to four children. Born in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Doody and Eleanor Doody (Heney).
Patrycia was a graduate of Brockton High School and went on to earn a degree in Communications from UMASS Amherst. She was an accomplished writer, publishing three novels throughout her career: The Liar's Diary, The Orphans of Race Point, and most recently, All the Children are Home. Patrycia was also inducted into the Poetry Society of America and won the Massachusetts Cultural Award for Poetry and Fiction.
Above all, Patrycia cherished making connections with those around her. She spent her free time volunteering at the local prison for the Rec department, helping the homeless for Saint Joseph's House and Street Reach and taught free meditation classes to community members through her church. Patrycia loved weekly date nights with her husband, Ted. Her 7 grandchildren brought her daily joy and laughter. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed taking photos of picturesque Cape Cod while exploring its hidden beauty. Some of her favorite moments were spent at home, curled up with her beloved Sheltie, Mookie, listening to music or reading a good book on her porch while sipping tea out of her favorite blue mug.
Survivors include her husband Ted Lukac of Centerville, MA, her children: Gabriel Francis of Warren, RI, Joshua Francis of East Freetown, MA, Nellie Kelsch of Sandwich and Theodore J. Lukac of Centerville. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Lexi, Hank, Sebastian, Will, Jude, Cora and the late Emma, along with one great grandchild; Hope.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday July 13th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, John-Lawrence Chapel, 3778 Falmouth Rd. Marstons Mills, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held July 14th at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main Street, Centerville, MA, burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.
