Funeral services for Patsy Jean Massey Aaron will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery also in Okemah.
Patsy Jean Masey Aaron was born September 30, 1931, to William Jennings "Bryan" and Julia Frances Massey in
Paden, Oklahoma. She was the third of nine children. She passed peacefully on June 14, 2024 in
Weatherford, Oklahoma. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Virgle and Stanley Massey; her sisters, Barbara Massey Kerns and Alecia Massey Hill and her grandson, Kevin Don Aaron. She was a longtime member of the Midway Church of Christ of
Paden, Oklahoma.
Patsy graduated from Paden High School in 1950. She was the basketball queen, playing basketball and softball and was a staunch believer in getting as much education as possible. After high school, Pat was employed by the Okfuskee County Hospital and, later in life, by Oktronics Corporation, Okemah Public Schools and The State Highway Department where she retired in 1996. Pat was a loyal Oklahoma City Thunder fan and loved following her team each season. She also enjoyed traveling and had some enjoyable trips including trips to Hawaii, Alaska, California and Prince Edward Island. Another love of hers were the many children she babysat for in her home. Pat was married to James Aaron on December 30, 1951. They had seven children, 20 grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by her seven children, Teresa Aaron Kelley and husband Gary of Welch, Oklahoma, Michael Aaron and wife Jacqueline of
Weatherford, Oklahoma, Cheryl Aaron Thatcher and husband Philip of
Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Carol Aaron Maciula of
Stillwater, Oklahoma, Daryll Aaron of
Stillwater, Oklahoma, Gary Aaron and wife Laura of Cypress, Texas and Jerry Aaron and wife Adina of
Okemah, Oklahoma; three brothers, Bobby Massey and wife Kaye of
Okemah, Oklahoma, Ronald Massey and wife Karen of Prague, Oklahoma and Stephen Massey and wife Jeannette of Stroud, Oklahoma; one sister, Grace Massey Holt of
Sacramento, California and sister in law, Jackie Massey of
Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Patrick Maciula, Phillip Maciula, Chan Aaron, Anthony Sands, Trevor Aaron, Garrick Aaron and Raleigh Aaron.
Honorary bearers will be her nephews.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home,
Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Bro. Tony Springer.
