Patsy Jane Deshotels

Patsy Jane Deshotels, 95, of Nederland, died Tuesday February 3, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1930, in Lafayette, Louisiana to Charles and Jeanne Bonin.

Patsy was the heart of her family. She found peace in embroidery, and she was happiest in the kitchen, cooking meals that brought everyone together. Sundays were her favorite - a full house, full plates, and the joy of feeding everyone she loved. Patsy showed her care through her actions, making sure no one ever left hungry. Her warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family will live on in the memories shared around the table and in the traditions, she leaves behind.

Survivors include her daughters; Nancy Sosa and her husband David, Elizabeth Clayton and her husband, Darrell, and Patricia Collier and her husband, Jackie; brother, Monte Bonin and his wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Angela Reeves, Catherine Sosa and her fiancé, James Baze, Ashley Deshotels, Alyssa Leathers and her husband, Jimmy, Michael Deshotels, Patrick Collier and his wife, Marley, Matthew Collier, Nicholas Collier and his wife, Alexis and Zachary Collier; and great-grandchildren, Kylah Collier, Andrew Collier, Cullen Collier, Ivy Collier, Jude Collier, Sara Deshotels, Keegan Leathers, Russell Leathers, and baby boy Collier on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Deshotels; son, Russell Deshotels; grandchild, Joseph Deshotels; grandson-in-law, Doug; great-grandchildren, Scarlette Collier and Natasha Mints; and brother, Charles Edward Bonin.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice especially Jennifer, Taylor, Nikki, and Renisha.

A gathering of Mrs. Deshotels family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2026, at Broussard's, 505 North 12 th street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland. Her entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
