Patsy Ann Harrell passed away on November 16, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on December 3, 1946, in Eclectic, Alabama to Jessie Floyd Partain and Freddie Ann Hornsby but was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Benjamin Floyd and Claudie Estelle (Fuller) Partain.

Patsy attended school in Tallassee, Alabama and Kermit, Texas. Later she went to Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX and earned an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science. She worked for several Oil & Gas companies with her last employment being at TXO in Gilmer, Texas.

After marrying Charles Harrell, the two of them moved to Citronelle, Alabama where Charles pastored Forest Lawn Baptist Church for 10 years. She had a heart for God’s word and taught a ladies Sunday School class for many years and enjoyed the fellowship of the many friends they made through serving in the ministry.

In 2005, Charles and Patsy moved back to Texas and settled in the White Oak community. Patsy held a deep passion for White Oak’s football teams that her grandsons played on. She became a member of the White Oak Football Mom’s Club and enjoyed the friendships she made with other moms and grandmothers while supporting the team which she proudly called “my boys” and they in turn called her “MawMaw”. She embodied the spirit of support and camaraderie that defines such organizations.

A lifelong fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team, Patsy’s enthusiasm for her team was infectious. She proudly cheered for them every Saturday of the season with her family. She held season tickets for several years and attended the games with her sister. In recent years, she attended many games in Tuscaloosa with her daughter. She was very proud that all her children, and the majority of her grandchildren, were Bama fans. Watching the games with her family was one of her biggest joys in life and she looked forward to every season. Patsy’s favorite things were Elvis, traveling (especially cruises), Bama football, attending her grandchildren’s events, diet coke and spending time with her family near and far.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Charles Harrell of White Oak; sons, Chris Brooks and wife Mary of Liberty City, Gary Brooks of Gilmer; daughter, Patience Reeves and husband Seth of Gilmer; daughter-in-love, Kim Tubbs; brothers, Tommy Partain, Bobby Partain, Michael Partain, Darroll Hornsby and Wendell Hornsby; sisters, Carolyn Sparks, Sharron Moore, Gail Evers, Sandra Henley and Kelly Martin; 10 grandchildren, Josh Brooks, Skyler Brooks, Ashlyn Brooks, Savannah Rohr, Remona Randall, USAF Capt. Jessie Reeves, Chase Reeves, Jett Reeves, Jagger Reeves, and Ciara Grant; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sanford and a special aunt, Hattie Tidwell, that she shared a special bond with.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patsy’s life at a celebration of life service to be held on November 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Rosewood Baptist Church in Gilmer, TX with her husband, Charles Harrell and her brother-in-law, Bro. Charles Johnson officiating.

The family requests that everyone that attends please wear Alabama shirts or the colors of the Alabama Crimson Tide (Bama red) in celebration of Patsy’s lifelong love for the team.
