Patsy Carmen Wahl Metzner, 79, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Buda, Texas. Patsy was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Louis August Wahl and Norma Rose Wahl on August 1, 1946.

She attended Seguin High School and graduated in 1964. She went on to earn a degree in Education from Southwest Texas State College (now known as Texas State University) in a quick two years. After graduation she immediately became a teacher in Seguin ISD and after 41 years of teaching elementary school, she retired from Lockhart ISD in 2007. Her many hobbies included: reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, crafting, fishing, cooking, gardening, and walking.

Her true joys came from learning, teaching, and creating. She loved to solve a problem by creating something for you. Often, a problem you didn't know you had she would find a solution for, make it, gift it to you; and you realized you never knew how you lived without the item. Helping children in their educational adventure was a true passion of hers. She took great pride in her work and gave her all to her students both inside and outside of the classroom. Often advocating to make sure they and their families had what they needed. Even after retiring she found ways to care for others through volunteering to read with children to working in the flower shop and loving on people with "extra" flowers or her homemade goodies. Everywhere she went she quickly became known as "Mama Metzner" and ranch dip will never be the same without her.

Patsy married Frank Louis Metzner on December 26, 1966, and they enjoyed 36 years together. She loved being Mom to J.R., Terri Jackson (and her husband Richard), and Amber Childress (and her husband Michael). Her role as Nana to, Cullen and Will Jackson, and Nolan Childress, was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Additionally, Patsy enjoyed her role as Aunt to Meredith, Colin, Keegan, and Leona Lymer, Jordon Wahl, and Billy, Keith, and Debbie Metzner. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Metzner, parents Louis and Norma Wahl, brothers Louis and Michael Wahl, sister-in-law Donna Wahl, and brother-in-law William Metzner.

Her gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Patsy's life was a beautiful combination of devotion to her family, commitment to education, and kindness to all around her. As we bid farewell to this incredible woman, we take solace in knowing that she is finally at rest and that her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
