**Obituary for Pasquale Vespa**

Pasquale "Patsy" Vespa, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Wheeling, West Virginia. Born on September 18, 1929, in Roseto Valfortore, Italy, he lived a full and vibrant life of 95 years.

Patsy was the retired owner and operator of DiCarlo's Pizza in Elm Grove, where he dedicated many years to serving the community with his passion for authentic Italian cuisine. His love for cooking extended beyond his professional life; he took great joy in making homemade wine and cultivating his own fruits and vegetables, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.

A proud member of the Former Elm Grove Italian American Club, Elks Lodge #28 and St.Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Patsy cherished the camaraderie and friendships he built within these communities. His warm spirit and generous nature will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Patsy was preceded in death by his father, Leonardo Vespa, his mother, Maria Niro, and his sister, Filomena DeNicola. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Carol Lee (Welling) Vespa, his two daughters, Maria Sell (Dave Wilson) of Wheeling, WV, and Lucy Piatt (Don) of Hilliard, OH, and his son, Joseph Vespa (Kelly) of Wheeling. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

In accordance with Patsy's wishes, there will be no services. His family invites those who knew him to remember him in their own special way, celebrating the life of a man who touched the hearts of many.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements entrusted to Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel.
