Patty Rean Thacker Bailey, aged 62, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on July 19, 1962, Patty lived a life dedicated to her family and her community, serving others through her work as a waitress for over 25 years at such establishments as American Village Senior Living, Denny's, and Waffle House.
A proud member of the Southport High School class of 1979, Patty demonstrated an unwavering spirit and commitment to those around her. She had a keen eye for decorating and crafting, pursuits that brought her immense joy alongside her enjoyment of playing Bingo and thrift shopping. Her love for music resonated throughout her life, as did her loyalty to the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers, sports teams that brought her countless hours of entertainment.
Patty cherished her family dearly; among her living relatives include her daughter, Crystal Johnson - Mack; her father, Johnnie Thacker; her siblings Donna Murphy and John Thacker; and her grandson, Patrick Carson. Each of them undoubtedly carry many fond memories of Patty, illustrating the depth of her loving and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zella D. Cleary Thacker; sisters Carol Cline and Christina Thacker; and grandson Charles Carson. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished moments that will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
To celebrate Patty's life and contributions, a visitation will be held on April 16, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A committal service will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. The family invites all who knew and loved Patty to come and share their memories as they gather to honor her remarkable spirit and the impact she had on so many lives.
