Patty Thomas, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, in Canton, GA, at the age of 70. Born on December 24, 1953, in Atlanta, GA, Patty's nurturing spirit touched everyone she met. Patty's heart belonged to her family, her children, and grandchildren were the highlights of her life, bringing her immeasurable joy and pride.
A lover of nature, Patty found solace in the tranquility of her yard and the beauty of her flower garden. Her adventurous spirit led her to cherish moments traveling to the mountains and coastal regions, where she indulged in her passion for walking along the beach and collecting seashells. She was the embodiment of love and selflessness, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own.
Patty Thomas's legacy is one of kindness and devotion-qualities that those who knew her will carry forward in her honor. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie McCollum; mother, Dorothy Bowen; father and stepmother, William and Bessie Gravitt; brother, Charlie Bowen, and sister, Marie Hamm; survivors are her children, Ann Marchman (Casey), and Dwayne McCollum (Erin); grandchildren, Lacey Schneider (Ryan), Jake Marchman (Hanna), Tessa McCollum and Knox McCollum; great-grandson, Kal Marchman; sister, Penny Gentry; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Patty was cremated per her request and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside service a Celebration of her life will be held at J.B. Owens Park, 2699 Hickory Rd., Holly Springs, GA 30115.
