Paul Jeffrey Cain, aged 69, passed away on March 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage four brain cancer. He departed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.
Paul was born on February 7, 1956, and was the embodiment of kindness and compassion. His strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of those around him. When faced with the challenges of his illness, he remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew him.
Paul worked in the upholstery business for 46 years. He found great satisfaction in working with old furniture and restoring items to their original, pristine condition.
Paul loved spending time with his family; discussing the events of the day over dinner. When he wasn't with his family, Paul loved catching up on current events on Fox News, which was on the TV for hours a day. Paul loved starting his day with a pancake breakfast and coffee, and always enjoyed stopping for a famous hot dog from QT on his way to radiation therapy. Even when Paul's health began to decline, he remained dedicated to spending time with his children and grandchildren. He fought hard to remain positive for his friends and family, and was determined to make the most of his time. No matter what, "Papa Cain" always had a smile on his face.
Without a doubt, Paul Jeffrey Cain has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his friends and family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, which is cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Katherine Ida Cain and Andy Cain; brother, Kenny Cain; brother-in-law, Clifton Smith Ritch Jr.; nephew, Clifton Smith Ritch III (Boe); grandchild, Baby Cain; and his daughter-in-law's mother, Deborah Palmer.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Candice (Craig) Harper; son, Andy (Katherine) Cain; grandchildren, Timothy, Justin, Chloe, Andrew, Wesley, Kimber, and Lawson; sister, Brenda Ritch; nieces, Sherri (Ronnie) Jones, Joy Blasingame, Pam Moreland, Michelle Gardner, and Tammy Wing; and several great nieces and nephews. Paul is also survived by his former wife, Cheryl Strickland. Although Paul and Cheryl were no longer married, they continued to share a strong friendship and found joy in being a part of their grandchildrens' lives.
