Paul G. Correll, age 89, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 2:15 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born in Linton on April 18, 1935, the son of Jesse G. and Dorothy (Magner) Correll.
Paul was a 1953 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and served six years in the Army National Guard. Correll's LP Gas began in 1946 and Paul joined his father in the family business in 1958. He worked with his father until 1967 when he purchased the business. He and his son, Bryan, continued to operate the business together.
Paul was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, a 55 year active member of the Linton Civitan Club, and belonged to the Linton Masonic Lodge #560 and Linton B.P.O. Elks #866 for many years.
He enjoyed golf, travel, attending auctions, and loved classic cars.
He is survived by his wife, Eva (Hays) Correll; two sons, Bryan (Sara) Correll of Linton and Keith Correll of Greenwood; one sister, Barbara Griffin of Linton; one granddaughter, Laura Beth (Kevin) Cross of Linton; and two great-grandchildren, Homer James Cross and Opal Cross.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda L. (McKean) Correll; a brother, Harold Correll; and a sister, Carolyn Hoffman.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with Nick Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, with Chris Gehring officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 10 AM until the time of service.
Memorial donations may be made to Linton Civitan "Toys for Tots", through the funeral home.
