Paul John Del Vecchio, 53, of Ionia, New York, passed away from an illness on October 3, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at home.
Paul was born in Canandaigua, NY and graduated from Bloomfield High School. He worked in the Facilities Department at Nazareth University for over thirty years, where he was loved by his work team and everyone in the Nazareth family. In addition, Paul kept busy running his lawn care and firewood business.
Paul enjoyed the simple things in life, with many of his family members and friends recalling a special memory or tradition they shared with him, such as catching the latest action film or trying to find the best area fish fry. His favorite time of year was the annual family vacation to Bethany Beach, Delaware, where he enjoyed go-karting, mini golf, and boardwalk fries. Paul was known to say, "c'mon, live a little, we're on vacation!"
Paul is survived by his parents, Richard and Judith; brother Justin and his wife Brenda Wonder, their children Emilia and Lyla; brother Stephen and his partner Jen Palmer, his children Samantha and Alana, and her children Katarina, Tristan, and Andrew Palmer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 9:30-11am on Monday, October 23 at Saint Catherine of Siena, 26 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon, with the funeral Mass immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ionia Volunteer Fire Department or other local charity.
