Paul Demoorjian

Paul Demoorjian, 89, of Manchester, passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury, MA on February 22, 2024.

He was born in Marlborough, MA on February 9, 1935, to the late Avedis and Zable Demoorjian; both of whom fled from Armenia in the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Paul never let his Armenian heritage falter, and was a long-time member of the St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in North Andover, MA, stayed active with the Lowell Chapter of the ARF, and the Men's Club through the church. Paul was a United States Army Veteran. He worked for over 44 years in the Composing Department at the Manchester Union Leader. He had been a member of the Manchester Motorcycle Club (MMC) since 1972 and the NHMRO since 1976.

Paul was a man dedicated to the service of others; he would grow vegetables in his garden to give away to friends and family, and he would offer up his hand in helping with any project. Paul's greatest joy were his three grandchildren. Whether the moment was big or small, Paul would be there.

Paul is survived by his wife, for whom he was with for over 43 years, Beverly (Conley) Demoorjian; his three sons, Steven and Kristen True of Ticonderoga, NY, Richard and D'Ann True of Hooksett, NH, and Aaron and Kelly True of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren, Carter, Makenna, and Austin; two brothers, Walter and Marty Demoorjian, both of Marlborough, MA; three sisters, Elizabeth Kopoian of Providence, RI, Alice Karnikyan of Waltham, MA, and Susie Demoorjian of Marlborough, MA, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Thursday, February 29th from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will take place at St. Gregory Armenian Church, North Andover, MA on Friday morning, March 1st at 11 AM with a calling hour to take place at the church from 10 to 11 prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH at 2 PM.
