With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Paul Mason Dicus on the 19th day of May 2025 at National Church Residences Bristol Village.
Born June 19th, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, Paul was the first born of seven children. Paul is preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Dicus, Mother, Imogene Mae (Gire) Gartin, brother, Tracy Wayne Dicus, and sisters Martha Joann Graves and Shirley Elnora Harris. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jean (Combs) Dicus of Waverly, Ohio, brother Billy (Cathryn) Dicus of Piketon, Ohio, sister Linda Cook of Waverly, Ohio, sister Jeanie (Ollie) Mollett of Piketon, Ohio, sister Brenda Jordan of Waverly, Ohio, five children, two step-daughters, fourteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
Along with his passion for pastoring and evangelizing, Paul retired from St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio where he worked for several years as a groundskeeper. Paul loved fishing, hunting, and preaching, and always enjoyed a good meal and being surrounded by friends and family whom he often entertained with his many comical songs and shenanigans.
Paul had grown especially close to his son Duane (Christian) Dicus of Arden, NC and three grandchildren Journey, Canyon, and Elijah, who have been a constant source of joy and encouragement in his final days.
One of Paul's favorite Bible verses was Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Omega Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m., until the beginning of the services on Friday.
