Paul Malvey Duggan, 79, of Franklin died April 4 at Cedarwood Gardens Franklin.
Born in Fall River, May 14,1945, the son of the late John and Ruth (Malvey) Duggan, Paul had lived in Franklin for the past few years.
He was a graduate of Coyle High School and attended Southeastern Massachusetts University, majoring in chemistry.
Paul served in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He had been a computer programmer and had been stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Hanscom Air Force Base and at the Pentagon.
Paul used his GI Bill education allowance to become a certified commercial truck and bus driver, which allowed him to travel throughout the country. His curiosity caused him to also take up jobs as a commercial fisherman and a miner.
Paul is survived by his brother Joseph Duggan of Framingham and was the brother of the late John and Gerald Duggan.
He is also survived by four nephews, a niece and numerous cousins, grand nephews and nieces.
His services will be private with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

I will remember Paul who spent his first week's earnings as a paperboy by treating me at the movies to see Disney's 'Shaggy Dog'; encouraging me to visit him in Harlan County, Kentucky and showing me (the flatlander) how to drive on those steep mountain roads.

Paul was a young sportsman in school baseball and track. He was a very good ping pong player, at which he won trophies at his social club, the Corky Row Club in Fall River. As his health declined his favorite cable TV channels were the Discovery and History themes.
