Paul Dunlop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center - Imlay City on Oct. 1, 2025.
Paul Allen Dunlop, 70, of Dryden, Michigan peacefully passed away on Friday September 26, 2025 in Lapeer, surrounded by his wife and sons.
Paul was born in Pontiac on December 24, 1954. He attended Rochester Adams High School with the class of 1973, enjoyed water skiing, fishing, frisbee, four-wheeling, and was an avid Detroit sports enthusiast. He had a great love for dogs and desserts.
He started working at Rochester Paper Mill in January of 1976 and quickly rose up the ranks to become supervisor until the company shut its doors in 2002. He then took over the family business as a custom painter and carpenter, later retiring to his home in Dryden. Paul was a self-taught mechanic and all around "Mr. Fixit". With his exceptional skills in math and mechanics there wasn't anything he couldn't envision and implement.
He is survived by his wife Catherine, his sons; Jeremy (Sarah) Dunlop, Joel Dunlop, Robbie Dunlop and Derek Dunlop, his siblings; David Dunlop, Jerry (Wanda) Dunlop, Jane (Rick) Hemphill, Doug (Pam) Lee and Suzanne Blachura. He was preceded in death by his parents William Gerald (Jacqueline) Dunlop of Rochester Hills and Marilyn LaForge of Santa Fe, New Mexico and one brother Joe Lee.
In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorials made to your local animal shelter in Paul Dunlop's name. A Celebration of Life for Paul will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 with a gathering from 12-2pm and a banquet service from 2-4pm at Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center at: 2650 S. VanDyke Rd. Imlay City, Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
