PAUL DURMA Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grant Funeral Services - Estill Springs on Jan. 15, 2026.
PAUL WALKER DURMA, age 93, of Winchester, formerly of Illinois, departed this life at Betty's Place in Huntland, Tenn., on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, following an extended illness. Mr. Durma was born in Cicero, Ill. on July 30 1932, to the late Walter Durma and Barbara Butchl Durma. Mr. Durma was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His assignment was a little unique in that he did nuclear radio activity testing and was a "Hurricane Hunter". He enjoyed telling of his adventures during his duty. After his tour of duty he became a State Trooper for the state of Illinois. After a few years as a state trooper, Mr. Durma decided to change careers and was employed with E&L Trucking in Alsip, Ill., for approximately 30 years with the company when he retired. After his retirement he and his late wife, Mary Jane, relocated to Franklin County, Tenn., to be close to the Lakes so he could do as much fishing as possible.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Durma was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Kloth.

He is survived by his children; Scott Durma of Rogers, Arkansas, Paulette Mertl of Willowbrook, Ill., and Eric Durma of Omaha, Arkansas. Three Grandchildren.

It was Mr. Durma's wish that he be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.
