Paul Joseph “Joey” Edwards Jr., age 56, of Erlanger, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born in Connersville, Indiana on April 23, 1968 to Paul Edwards Sr. and Debra (Smith) Pennington. His family moved to Jackson County Kentucky which is where he called home as a child and young man. Paul worked in healthcare throughout his life, including as a Pharmacy Tech at HealthWarehouse, and an Employee of St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was also a veteran and served as a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a graduate, then instructor, at Brown Mackie College. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, family man, and friend.
Paul enjoyed playing and watching sports such as golf, basketball, baseball, and Australian Football. He was an avid Fantasy Football player for 35 years and known as the “GFL Commissioner” to his league. He was a Cub Scout Den Leader and church volunteer. One of his favorite activities for many years was co-hosting Edwards family reunions. He cherished time spent with his children and family. Whether displaying his quick wit or helping the family research and solve problems, Paul always demonstrated his deep love for them.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Debra (Smith) Pennington and sister-in-law Audreia Edwards. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Glenna Edwards, his father, Paul (Joan) Edwards Sr., sons Jacob Paul Edwards and Benjamin Gregory Edwards, brothers, Greg (the late Audreia) Edwards and Dave (Kelly) Caddell, and his little buddy, the family cat, Shiver Bill Edwards, among many other dear family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 4 at the Florence Nature Park Event Center 7200 Nature Park Drive, Florence, KY 41042. A time of gathering will begin at noon, with service time at 3:00pm.
