Paul Stephen Fisher, 83, of Sarasota, Florida—formerly of Pennsylvania—passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Born April 12, 1942, in Pennsville, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Herbert and Eleanor (Barnhart) Fisher.

Paul was a proud 1960 graduate of Southern Fulton High School in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, he embraced a strong work ethic and wore many hats. He worked at Fisher’s Furniture, later ran his own upholstery business, and went on to drive fuel trucks for Highway Petroleum. He also served as a surveyor for the Pennsylvania State Highway Department, held positions with Highway Express and Kirk Ford, and ultimately became the proud owner of Jimco Trailers and a Fleetwood dealership. After decades of dedication, Paul retired in 2009 and moved to Florida.

He is lovingly remembered by his companion, Carol “CJ” Mellon; daughter Melette Patterson, wife of Chris Patterson of Chambersburg, PA; son Michael Fisher and his partner Tasha Brubaker of Breezewood, PA; and stepson Brian Chubb of Crystal Spring, PA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Krista Shives, wife of Dylan Shives; Damon Gordon, husband of Callie Gordon; and Isabelle Fisher. His great-grandchildren—Lincoln and Stetson Shives, and Dax Gordon—brought him tremendous joy.

Paul is also survived by his sister, Dianna Kincaid, wife of Doug Kincaid of Needmore, PA; niece Kyrstin Rohm, wife of Eddie Rohm of Warfordsburg, PA; and nephew Stephen Kincaid of Monrovia, MD. He also leaves behind two grand-nieces, one grand-nephew, and his companion’s daughter, Kim Sigel, wife of Mark Sigel, and their daughter McKenna Inglett of Florida, with whom he shared a close and loving bond.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Paul was active in his community in earlier years as a member of the Odd Fellows in Needmore, PA, and as a charter member of the Needmore Fire Company. He was also a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion in Hancock, MD. He enjoyed boating, camping, assembling model cars, and attending Jamboree in the Hills in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He also loved cruising and proudly sailed his 20th cruise last year in celebration of his 82nd birthday. In retirement, he found peace watching NASCAR, tinkering in his garage and tending to his yard.

His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. In his own words: “He did it his way.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home in Hancock, MD. Paul will be laid to rest at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Warfordsburg, PA. At his request, a celebration of life and party will be held at the convenience of the family.
