Obituary For Paul Francis Fitch

Paul Francis Fritch of Jackson, NJ, longtime resident of New Dorp, passed away peacefully at age 95 on December 13, 2025. One of eight children of Lawrence and Marguerite Fritch of Akron, Ohio, Paul served his country in the U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany, before earning his accounting degree at the University of Akron. Following the loss of his first wife, Xenia, he moved to New York and achieved leadership positions in a number of financial institutions. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose humility and quiet gentility concealed a sharp wit and dry sense of humor. He was an avid golfer, and in his later years traveled extensively in Europe and Asia and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his granddaughters. His patience, kindness, and resilience inspired the love and admiration of all who knew him.
Paul is survived by his sons, Paul and David; his daughter Cheryl; his daughter- in-law Jeanine; his grandchildren Peyton and Brynn; and his sister Anna. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Edith. A viewing, followed by a brief memorial service, will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY 10306. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
