Paul F. Forry passed away May 28th at the age of 79 in his hometown of Boston after a 35-plus year battle with heart disease. Paul was born at Carney Hospital in South Boston on February 7th, 1946, to Thomas and Eleanor (Moriarty) Forry. Paul had the gift of gab and never missed a chance to share a story, especially ones about his upbringing in South Boston – tales filled with laughter, mischief, and the deep-rooted bonds of lifelong friends.
Paul was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Northeastern University, and Bentley College. He was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. When Paul returned from the war, he and his close friends moved from South Boston to Milton where he discovered an unexpected love for draft horses. It was in Milton where he met and married his late wife Ann (McCue) and where they raised their three children. Paul was a self-employed tax consultant and accountant and genuinely enjoyed his clients, many of whom became friends.
In time, Paul returned to South Boston where he enjoyed daily walks around the Sugar Bowl and Castle Island. Paul looked forward to lunch with his lifelong friends from grammar school at St. Brigid’s – a weekly tradition that has been ongoing for well over a decade. He saved greeting cards from loved ones and proudly displayed them alongside photos of his children, grandchildren, and friends throughout his home as a reminder of the people who mattered most to him. He was a humble man who never sought the spotlight and always made sure others were taken care of.
Paul is survived by his three children, Erin, Ryan, and Padraic; his daughter-in-law, Dana; his four grandchildren, Liam, Aiden, Declan, and Nolan; his siblings Tom and Kathy; and his many cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Patricia, and his wife, Ann.
